”To improve the health and well-being of the Highbury community and surrounding suburbs, by providing free food and clothing to whānau in the area. We receive donations from the community, everything donated to us is given free and no questions asked. Kia ora whānau, Everyone and anyone is welcome at Te Whare Koha Highbury. We are a registered charity located at 42 Pembroke Street Highbury open Monday to Friday 9-12. We provide free food and clothing to Highbury and the surrounding suburbs, through donations. Everything donated to us is given free and no questions asked. We accept all donations of used good conditions, clothing, footwear, bedding, towels, homeware, kitchenware, books, kid's toys, and anything else that may help families in need. Unfortunately, we can not accept anything that needs repairs or is stained or damaged. We do not have the room for large items such as beds, draws, or lounge furniture. We have a small community garden that is looked after by volunteers and the Manawatū Food Action Network. The gardens are freely accessible to everyone and anyone can take from them. We collect food from other community groups around the Manawatū and some of the school lunch providers, the community is welcome to donate food. We accept all unopened food items that are still within their best before or after expired dates. We also have a public phone that can be used free of charge to make any local calls by any member of our community. We can take whānau to appointments during our opening times.
